Understanding the diverse needs of our school community, we have tailored our programs to provide an engaging, safe, and supportive environment beyond the standard school day hours.
We provide an array of programs tailored to accommodate the wide-ranging interests and requirements of our students. Our before and after-school programs commence at 7:30 am, with the standard school day beginning at 8:45 am and concluding at 4:05 pm, and continuing until 6:00 pm.
Our before & after-school programming make our school stand out as one of the most diverse private schools in Toronto.
Before School Care
Our before school program offers fully supervised care for children prior to the start of the school day from 7:30 am – 8:45 am. This time is largely unstructured, allowing students to choose from a variety of games and activities to be enjoyed individually or in a group. Examples include board games, puzzles, reading, drawing, lego and playing with educational manipulatives.
After School Programs
Our after-school program offers the following choices for students daily from 4:05 pm – 6:00 pm:
Homework Club (Grades 1 and up):
The Homework Club provides a quiet, focused setting for students who require teacher support to complete their work. Students attend to work on their homework, get a head start on upcoming projects, or receive guidance from teachers in organizing their tasks such as completing their agendas or breaking down assignments into more manageable tasks. We encourage students to proactively (Habit 1) seek clarification on topics or concepts they are unsure of, by attending homework club and seeking teacher support. For students who may have extensive extracurricular commitments, homework club can be a great place to complete school responsibilities prior to going home. Homework club is staffed by our full-time faculty members.
Unstructured Free-Play:
For students who prefer a more relaxed environment after their school day, we also offer an unstructured after-school care option. This program mirrors our before school program in providing a supervised space where children can unwind and engage in a variety of activities at their own pace. They can choose to read, play board games, draw, build with lego, or simply enjoy chatting with friends. This unstructured time encourages personal exploration, helps children develop their interpersonal skills, and provides a calming transition between the school day and home life. There is also room for outdoor play when weather permits. Staff are always on hand to ensure a safe and friendly environment.
Specialized After School Programs:
We are also pleased to offer a variety of optional specialty programs available for a separate activity fee. Each program offered is thoughtfully designed to complement the academic journey of our students while opening doors to new skills and experiences. These programs invite our students to uncover new interests and deepen their talents, right here within the comfort and convenience of our school grounds.
The unique blend of these programs eliminates the need for additional travel to offsite locations, creating a seamless transition from the academic day to extracurricular enrichment. All programs will run from 4:15-5:15 pm and are designed to promote confidence, showcase creativity, spark curiosity and build new skills.
Here are some examples of specialty programs we have run in the last few years:
- Brazilian Jiu-jitsu: Learn self-defence and discipline through this popular martial art.
- Mini Chef Cooking Club: Discover the joy of cooking and develop culinary skills in a fun, hands-on environment.
